- Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC) Conduct the Exam in a transparent way .
What is Age Limit for CSS ?
21 to 30 years is the age limit for admission in CSS Examination, In which govt give relaxation up-to 2 years for those who are already in Government Service and have completed 2 years of service.

Who is eligible for the CSS Exam ?
- A Citizen of Pakistan without any criminal record.
- Must hold a minimum of a 14 years of education with the "Second Division" or "Grade C" in any Faculty/Discipline or Degree from one amongst the Pakistani Universities or an equivalent degree or educational qualifications from a foreign University which is compareable.
- No candidate who has obtained below 2nd Division in his/her Bachelor’s Degree (14 year of education)will be eligible for the Examination except in cases where he/she has obtained a higher Division in Master’s Degree.
- The relaxation in age is also available to candidates belonging to certain remote areas as defined by Government.
What is Selection Process for CSS ?
- Announcement for the Exams of CSS
- Fulfillment of Eligibility Criteria of CSS by Candidates.
- Submission of Applications on or before closing date mention in the Ad.
- Written Examination
- Medical Test
- Psychological Test
- Viva Voce.
There are 6 compulsory subjects of 100 marks and 6 or 7 other. each and the candidate of CSS has to select subjects of his/her choice of total 600 marks with other optional subjects.After succesfuly clearing the written examinatiom part the candidates go through medical and appear in the Psychological test and viva voce test 300 marks.Thus Total marks for CSS are 1500.
How to Apply For CSS Exams:
- The Candidates must deposit the exam fee within the nearest Bank of Pakistan/National Bank Under the account head”CO2102-organs of state exam fee(FPSC Receipt)
- He/She must Fill the online Application Form on the official website of FPSC.
- Attach the hard-copy of the Online form along with copies of your documents (Id card , accademic results, domicile) and bank-receipt to the FPSC headquarter,Islamabad.
- Your Full Complete application with no mistakes must reach FPSC headquarter Islamabad within 10 days of the closing date.
Following documents must be attached with hard copy:
- Copies of your Accedemic documents
- Photographs (not old more than 6 months)
- other Required documents mention at your form
- Bank receipt of deposited exam fee
- Experience Certificate if applicable
- other documents as required in the advertisement
- If any applicant has applied for relaxation of age limit he/she should submit the relevant certificate duly filled in by concerned authorities.
- All these type of certificates are available on the official website of FPSC.
CSS Qualifying Marks:
- In compulsory Subjects 40% in each subject.
- Optional Subjects 33% in each subject
- Aggregate Marks must be 50%.
Note:if you got these marks it 'll not give you a garentee of selection.
How many Chances are in CSS ?
- A candidate who is otherwise eligible can avail max three chances.
Recruitment Policies:
These merit and provincial quotas 'll be seen as filling vacancies reserved for direct recruitment of CSS under the Federal Government. which are applicable on whole Pakistan basis in pursuance of establishment.
- Punjab:50%
- Sindh:19%
- KPK:11.5%
- Merit: 7.5%
- Balochistan:6%
- Gilgit baltistan:4%
- AJK:2%
- 10% Quota is reserved for Women of Pakistan.
- 5% quota is for Minorities(Non Muslims) of Pakistan..
- Disable candidates will be able to attempt the exam in accordance to the Govt Recruitment policy.
