FIGURE OF SPEECH – DEFINITION AND EXAMPLES

In order to depart from the ordinary form of expression or to produce a greater effect, a figure of speech is used. There are various figures of speech. 1. Simile:  a comparison between two different kinds of objects which however have one common point known as simile. For simile two words “Like” or “as” used. Examples: He is  like  a moon. He is  as  beautiful  as  the moon. He fought  like  a lion. 2. Metaphor:  To make a comparison between two different things without using ‘like’ or ‘as’ known as metaphor. What is contract? Any agreement or declaration between two or more parties and the agreement must be enforceable by law is called contract.   Jeff Bezos is the founder of   amazon.com . He was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico, United State on January 12, 1964. His Biological father name was Ted Jorgensen and mother’s name was Jacklyn Gise Jorgensen. Jeff’s mother divorced his father and married to Miguel Bezos. After marriage, Miguel Bezos legally adopted Jeff. The family then move to Huston, Texas. Bezos attended River Oaks Elementary School in Huston from fourth to sixth grade. TYPES OF VERB

Verb Definition:  The action or “doing” word in a sentence known as a verb. Verb is the most important word in a sentence. Examples: The boy  kicks  the football. He  ran, jumped  and  danced . Alia  laughs  loudly. Note:  Bold words shows action that’s why known as verb. They perform an important role in a sentence. TYPES OF VERBS 1.Stative Verb:  Verbs that shows situation known as stative verb. They are be, like, have, think, own. Examples: I  have  a large family. Hira  likes  ice cream. Be  like Michael. Note:  Have, likes, be, are stative verbs. 2.Action Verbs:  Verbs which show physical action known as action verbs. Jumping, cooking, dancing, shouting are action verbs. Examples: He is  jumping . TYPES OF INTERJECTION

Interjection Definition:  Words that are used to express sudden feelings or emotions are called interjections. Such words as Hello! Alas! Hurrah! Ah! Etc. are called interjections. Examples: Hi!  What’s going on? Hush!  Don’t make a noise. Ah!  Have they gone now? Note:  Bold words are interjection because they show our expression. Pronoun and its types

Pronoun Definition:  A word used in place of noun is known as pronoun. Note:  Pronoun is used in sentences to avoid repetition of the noun in a sentence over and over again. Example: Michael is at the movie with  Michael’s wife. Michael   enjoys spending time with  Michael’s wife . Note:  In the above example noun (Michael) is used over and over again, to avoid such repetition we can simply replace this noun with pronouns like he, his, her. Michael is at the movie with  his  wife.  He enjoys spending time with  her . TYPES OF PRONOUN There are several types of pronoun. 1.
